Over 100 Plastic Surgeons from Across India Gather in Chennai to Mark World Plastic Surgery Day
Chennai Celebrates World Plastic Surgery Day with National High-Definition Liposuction Masterclass and Public Awareness Initiative
Chennai, July 2026: As part of the World Plastic Surgery Day (July 15) celebrations, a National High-Definition Liposuction Masterclass and public awareness initiative was successfully conducted at the auditorium of Spectra Medicals Private Limited, Chennai. The event brought together more than 100 plastic surgeons from across India for an academic program highlighting the latest advancements in aesthetic plastic surgery, high-definition liposuction, body contouring, liposculpture, and skin tightening.
The scientific program was inaugurated by Professor Dr. J. S. Radhakrishnan, Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Stanley Medical College, Chennai and Dr. James Roy Kanjoor, Founder of Roys Cosmetic Surgery Centre, Coimbatore, as the Chief Guests. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Nishar, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Chennai Plastic Surgery.
The masterclass featured renowned faculty from across India:
• Dr. Monisha Kapoor (New Delhi) presented advanced concepts in 4D body sculpting, energy-based skin tightening, and techniques to achieve body contouring while reducing the need for extensive procedures in selected patients.
• Dr. Bibilash Babu (Kerala) delivered an in-depth session on the fundamentals of liposuction, different liposuction cannulas, surgical planning, and male high-definition body contouring, providing valuable practical insights for young plastic surgeons.
• Dr. Surindher D.S.A (Dubai/Bengaluru) shared his expertise and international experience in contemporary high-definition liposuction and advanced body sculpting techniques.
• Dr. Karishma Kagodu, Bengaluru, who delivered a comprehensive lecture on Feminine High-Definition Liposuction and shared her experience in advanced 4D VASER liposuction.
• Dr. Karthik Ramasamy, Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon and Director of Chennai Plastic Surgery, presented the latest concepts in high-definition liposuction, emphasizing surgical safety, precision body contouring, anatomical understanding, and achieving natural-looking aesthetic outcomes.
The event also served as a public awareness initiative to mark World Plastic Surgery Day, highlighting that plastic surgery extends far beyond cosmetic procedures. The faculty emphasized the vital role of plastic surgeons in reconstructive surgery, burn reconstruction, microsurgery, hand surgery, craniofacial surgery, as well as cosmetic and aesthetic plastic surgery, helping patients restore function, appearance, and confidence.
